WORK SKILLS PROGRAM

  • Job Title: Employment Coach
  • Schedule: M-F: Dayshift – 8:00 am to 2:30 pm up to 30 hours per week
  • Rate: $15-$16 hour

Description:

Provide supervision and support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • Support people in ways that assist him/her to achieve personal goals
  • Supervise and train people in work settings, volunteer opportunities, and work experience sites
  • Maintain a positive relationship with employers and/or potential employers
  • Encourage participation, teach skills, and motivate efforts
  • Oversee work sites to include setting up work, quality checking product, and teaching specific work skills
  • Provide community outings that promote job skill development, social skill development, and work/volunteer experience
  • Provide support that enhance job skill development, social skill development, and other employable skills
  • Document progress and skill development using Therap
  • General housekeeping to maintain an organized and healthy environment
  • Advocate for client’s rights, assure compliance with Oregon administrative rules and promote and support overall training efforts of the company mission.

Eligibility & Requirements:

  • Meet the physical demands of the job
  • Must be at least 18 years old (Oregon Administrative Rule 411-323-0050(9)(a))
  • Must pass a drug screen test, initially and randomly
  • Must pass a Department of Human Services criminal background check
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (per OARS)
  • Most positions require a valid driver’s license, be licensed for at least one year, have a good driving record and be at least 21 years of age to drive company vehicles
  • Rockwest will provide training for all required certifications (First Aid/CPR, OIS)
